I suppose, in light of recent events, it's a good thing I was raised by Muggles and that I've been forced to adapt to this city without my wand. It's given me a bit of a headstart on the others from my world, who can't seem to manage too long without magic. I'm actually quite able to function without magic, too, as magic isn't supposed to be used in front of non-mages. Really, the only advantage it gives me in daily life here is to look my actual age.

There are some apartments near the river that used to be inhabited. I'd say they've been fixed up fairly well. You might want to give those a try? There was one that I know for a fact had been merged with the apartment next to it, to accommodate more people...

The same goes for magic in front of Muggles-... that is, humans of non-magical origin. But since most wizards and witches grew up in magical communities, I had the advantage in being raised by Muggles.

I'm sure we'll only need room for three; thank you! I'll talk to the others about it and see what we decide to do.

Almost no one had magic at all in my world. So I'm kind of a bad housekeeper and cook, but I've always done it without those. [She grins rather self-deprecatingly.]

Um, about the houses, some places have electricity and some have running water, but I don't think anywhere has both. So is there one you want to look for?

Oh, I doubt you're that bad. [She lives with Ron; she's seen 'that bad.']

I'll have to talk it over with the others, but I'm assuming Ron has no use for electricity, and the three of us are all accustomed to having running running water.

Mm. So you probably want to find somewhere near here, then. We have running water at the temple. I think this whole quarter of the city does.

I'll check in with them and see what their opinions are. Thank you, Usagi.

Doesn't mean I'm not thick enough to realize who you're talking about.

... you're reading too much into it. [Can you hear the smirk in her voice, Ron?]

Looking to be someone's servant, Granger? I have to say that's what I've always thought you were suited for. Well done.

Least I've got my Godfather. Where's yours, Potter?

Oh. He's dead. Just like your mummy and daddy.

[Oh look someone sane. Sulio is grinning.]

That's the spirit. Adaptable and helpful.

Oh-... well, yes, there's no sense being stubborn about things, is there? I may as well help where I can. After all, there may come a day when I may need to accept the help of a stranger, as well.

Heh, I was just complimenting, miss. Although with how many people are flailing over this, you should watch out not to overwork yourself.

I think, if anyone samples my cooking, they won't ask me for it again. Not to hear my best friend tell it, anyway. [This is said with a definite touch of wryness.]
