For the record her child was cute, I was just afraid that at that point it would sound like an afterthought.

Today was my day off.  I still ended up spending most of the day at the Capitol, but continued my supermarket search in the afternoon.

I went to take notes from the Boston Public Library copy of Samantha Power's A Problem from Hell: America in the Age of Genocide because I had only read the first half last week.

The book talks about the American unwillingness to intervene in humanitarian causes from the Armenian genocide to "ethnic cleansing" in Kosovo and ends with this quote:

I filed my acceleration petition today to graduate in December of this year. To really be this close to home stretch is a strange feeling, but not a bad one. But, really, not as often as you would expect of a girl at college surrounded by 2000+ other women. I think about the utter lack of Y chromosome in my life mostly when I'm out. "alot" is not a word. It is "a lot." Two words. Two wordsssssssssss. Please. The little grammar/spelling freak that still does live inside me dies a little bit each time an adult English speaker tries to pull an "alot" on me.
