You Impress Me, Apple

Apr 19, 2006 09:02

You've gone and shipped my iPod and case more than twenty-four hours earlier than you estimated. That's the kind of early-morning present I normally expect only from Newegg. Now I want to break out my Apple II emulator and play your superior version of Oregon Trail.

Also, tangentially:

An open letter to Oblivion, cut for the uninterested and the spoilerphobic )

victory, gaming geek, open letters, vampire lizards on unicorns, flights of tangent

"In other news, I made cookies and my will last night"

Then I took another sip of coffee and read that sentence the correct way, much to my relief.

Heh. I made cookies once that were edible. And by "made," I mean "ate ready-to-cook dough out of the package."

I'm currently on a vampire hunt. Those kids have all the cool magical weapons, that I can sell for money, money, money. I'm really only killing vamps b/c I got kicked out of the mage's guild and need 20 vampire dusts to get back in. When other mage's jump in front of my sword during a battle I don't think that's cause for suspension.

Having been inducted into a vampire hunters' society (while I was in stage-three vampire mode, what the hell?), I can turn in vampire dusts for something like 500 gold a pop. Money! Kind of just a drop in the bucket now that I'm sitting on over 50,000 gold and a fully furnished manor house, though.

I've never gotten suspended from any of my guilds, oddly enough. I mean, robbing the mage guilds was my favorite hobby before I joined them; you'd think they might have put two and two together and maybe also noticed me selling them back all their own soul gems. I also violated the thieves' guild's "no-kill" policy like whoa while I did the Dark Brotherhood stuff, but maybe they stop caring about that once you reach the top of their chain of command.

Yeah, I've been holding off on doing the dark brotherhood b/c of the theives guild. But I think you just can't kill when you're on a mission for the theives guild. B/c I've killed a lot of people for the fighter's guild.

I originally had it figured as a no-murder rule (since everyone I killed for the fighters' guild attacked me first or was otherwise set up to be hostile), but I dunno. I actually finished the thieves' guild stuff before I did any other guild quests, so for all I know it's a just a no-killing-the-beggars rule or something. I don't think I've killed any beggars.

I think the rules are suspended after you attain the position of guild master for the guild in question, 'cause I know I've shot a few friendly mages during the heat of battle but have never gotten in trouble with the mages' guild for it. My assualt count is something like 200. *whistles innocently*
