I think the GRE went well today.  I got a 610 on the verbal section and 630 on the quantitative section.  Higher than I was expecting, but still a bit below average for the programs I'm looking at.  I'm not going to worry about it though.  Dr. Salomon says that grad schools consider other things above GRE scores, and my grades are good.  I'm also ( Read more... )

Geoff and I had a nice Valentine's Day.  He came over for a little while on Thursday for present exchange.  (I got a tshirt from thinkgeek... a sucrose molecule + anatomically correct heart = Sweetheart.  :D )  Then I went to Rally, and he went home and did homework till far too late at night again.  Poor grad student, his soul has been stolen.  ( Read more... )

Well, I'm back home now.  Christmas was kind of sad, but pretty good.  Sis and I made Christmas dinner, which made Mom and Grandma very happy.  I think we did well.  My chicken was delicious, and Sis's stuffed tomatoes were good even though they exploded in the oven.  My uncle made chocolate cheesecake for dessert.  Normally I don't like cheesecake ( Read more... )

Well, the holiday seemed to go well.  Even having my soon-to-be-in-laws over didn't cause the catastrophe I was envisioning.  The food was wonderful, because it always is when Grandma cooks, and everyone seemed to get along well.  We played Trivial Pursuit after dinner, Geoff and I won.  :D  And Black Friday was, as always, a wonderful success.  I ( Read more... )
