ONTD has gotten so huge that LJ took on a staffer to deal with the community. That would be brenden, ONTD editor.

He is known for being a jerk in general, but in a recent news post, he crossed a line. Full stop.

Regular dreamwidth geek reporting for duty xD

1) Icons: OpenID accounts have 6, Free accounts have 15, Paid accounts have 100
Premium Paid and Seed Accounts have 250.

2) Yes you can import your entries (WITH the tags, filters and comments intact if you so choose). The tag limit for dreamwidth is also higher.

3) You wont be able to follow LJ coms on dreamwidth - you'd need to check in. Which, yeah RN is a problem. But I think if LJ keep this up most of us are going to be on Dreamwidth anyway xD

4) What do you mean by 'the same theme?'? If you mean your livejournal layout then that sort of kind of depends on what basic theme your imposeing the CSS code onto. But, it's a very high likelyhood that you can.

If you ever decide it's needed I'm pretty much queen of all things dreamwidth (i've been there since the dark days xD) so I would be more than happy to help you out. If i'm honest I'm ready to make the move right.now. to dreamwidth because it's just one more thing after another but, but, my flist ;__;

Awesome, I defer to your expertise. :D And OMG, 100 for just a paid account? I have something like 48 and I've earned those, refusing to get an add-on pack. That is awesome.

The flist is the biggest problem. Man, I wish I could watch my flisters on dreamwidth. That would cinch the deal, really. :)

That's why I've got a strike policy. I think if something else pisses me off, I may have to consider it. My lj paid account doesn't run out until April though, so I'm at least sticking around until then and get my money's worth, then worrying about switching or not. :)

This whole situation is just full of ick. I'm thinking of getting a DW account, myself, but I have a lot of the same questions you do (daphnie_1 answered a lot of them in her comment above). I'm pretty bad at checking multiple accounts, though, so I have no idea how having both an LJ and DW would work out for me.

I definitely should. I think this weekend I'll figure out how to import lj posts and tags and mess around so at the very least I can have a backup. Man, I have people on there I might have defriended on lj and I don't know if some of these usernames are the same people by a different pseudonym. :/ No wonder I always use bigmamag on every damn thing. :)

Is there really no way to do smth about those douchebags? No one else to appeal to?

And you know LJ staff member troll is not the worst thing that may happen - any lj user, even the one on your flist can do same ugly shit and there's no other way to deal with it then defriend and ignore. That thing happenned last year in SPN/J2 fandom a lot so you just got used to it and ignore. I can't leave lj b/c here are many communities i read and friends that are not on dreamwidth or somewhere else. And I hope you won't leave - i'd like to continue to read your posts.

Well, even if I do jump ship, so to speak, I will cross-post to my lj, so really you wouldn't miss a single post anyway, I'd just be really using my dreamwidth as my main place. I just don't want to have to check two different flists and most of my friends are on lj. :/ We'll see what it comes to in the coming months.
