1. Swine flu is being blown a tad out of proportion, Y/N? I mean, obviously all the proper preventative precautions should be taken, but the media seems to be whipping this up into hysteria. It reminds me of the SARS thing in Toronto. The press acted like the sky was falling. It wasn't

However, I do have an iPod, and I needed new headphones.

Why didn't you just go to Target, etc.? I shudder to think how egregiously you overpaid for regular headphones at the Apple store!

Because Radio Shack only had the new in-ear kind (that are like earplugs), and I tried them for a day and felt unsafe walking around because I really couldn't hear anything other than the music. The regular Apple earbuds are by far my favourite of all the earphones I've tried over the years, so I decided to just suck it up and buy them. $29, which is ridiculous, but I use my headphones hours a day, so it's worth it to me to get ones I like.

I am! The Z twins have been a little crazysauce, but it has been worth it for Woobie!Noah and the opportunity for both the boys to explore their plentiful daddy issues. It's really a h/c-fest lately.

Also have been very \o/ with all the Parker/Liberty stuff.

I read where approximately 36,000 people die each year from the flu. Not to minimize the deaths right now, but really....

I think the 24 hour news channels are a bane of our existence, frankly.

That's the thing -- the flu kills people all the time. Of course the deaths from swine are very sad, but the hysteria is a bit much.

I always keep my receipts in a safe place, and I don't want to have to print it myself when they can just do it for me.

Maybe this particular store just sucks, but it was such a pain in the ass to actually buy something!

I don't understand why they bleep out the cursing on Southland. I mean if you can't curse on network tv why have them speak it anyway. It annoys me.

I wonder if it is the in-between stage from the non-cursing network to the cursing network. I mean, most network shows just write around the cursing, but this bleeping is something I have seen come up first on that crappy show with Patrick Swayze and now on Southland. I wonder if it is a trend that may lead at some point to the networks saying, "fuck it" out loud, we may as well just swear. After ten o'clock. Like they do in Canada.

I have also been loving Southland; it's a nice return to real cop shows instead of the formula stuff. Well we have talked about this before. But yes, Cudlitz is kind of owning me at this point. And Regina King is *stellar*. And Arija Bareikis, too. Oh, I guess I could go on for awhile on this list.

Hmm, you may be onto something, although I imagine the US networks are a long way away from that.

Cudlitz is so good! I can't wait to learn more about his character. I want him to find a nice man and be happy.

I think they just think it gives the show a bit of realism -- like it's Cops and these are real cops they are bleeping out LOL
