A few items of business

1. Swine flu is being blown a tad out of proportion, Y/N? I mean, obviously all the proper preventative precautions should be taken, but the media seems to be whipping this up into hysteria. It reminds me of the SARS thing in Toronto. The press acted like the sky was falling. It wasn't.

2. iRant: I hate the Apple Store. Hate. It. They're trying way, way too hard to be hip and modern and cool. In my experience of owning a Mac and working on one for four years, they crash just as much as PCs, so I don't think Macs are the SAVIOUR OF US ALL, OMG. However, I do have an iPod, and I needed new headphones. Just the plain ones, without a remote or microphone, kthx. Of course, it just said iPhone on the box, so I had to ask someone if I could use them with my iPod. I was pretty sure I could, but I wanted to check since there was no mention of iPods anywhere on the box. Hey, guess what, Apple? You have other products besides the iPhone. I know, it's shocking!

Then I tried to pay for said headphones. The store had about 20 staff members (not an exaggeration) consulting with customers, and ONE guy running the cash. ONE. I had to wait five long minutes for him, since he was talking away with the customer he was dealing with about his purchase. Maybe they could have an express line for people who just want to effing buy something and don't need to talk about it. Just a thought.

THEN. I finally get to buy the headphones. Cashier guy: "Can I email your receipt?"

:|

Oh, how modern and cool! Except it's actually just inefficient and a pain in the ass. I said no, I want my receipt printed (I hear we have these things nowadays called "cash registers" that can perform this function!), so he had to call over another employee who had to walk me over to the printer and hand me my receipt. This is why the Apple Store is always so full of people. But heck, it looks cool!

3. I really enjoyed Adam, and I think it sucks donkey balls that they killed him already. Before he even got to really meet Sam and Dean! What a waste of potential storylines and drama. Sure, maybe kill him off by the end of the season, but at least give Sam and Dean a chance to get to know him, and have him shake things up in their already shaky relationship. Then kill him when the audience (minus the crazies) and Sam and Dean are attached to him.

But instead, it was all over before it had even really begun. So disappointing. Not to mention lame.

4. Southland was full screen again last week, when it was letterboxed for ep two. WTF, NBC? W.T.F. Why can you letterbox one week and not the next? WHY? (But in happier news, I'm still really enjoying the show. I predict a very unpleasant end for C. Thomas Howell, Y/Y? Also, Michael Cudlitz is fantastic. A revelation, even.)

5. I really enjoy Elizabeth Banks' Huffington Post blog on 17 Again.

No, I plunked down my soft-earned money for this flick for one reason: I am a 3?-year-old woman inappropriately lustful for Zac Efron (Ya got me, media, especially you, GQ!).

Ha! I enjoy how so many people are suddenly on the Zac bandwagon. Better late than never. Why the hell Me and Orson Welles hasn't gotten distribution yet is beyond me, since it's a delightful, crowd-pleaser of a movie.

Question: Why didn't Hunter Parrish also take his shirt off in this flick?

I wish I knew, Elizabeth. I wish I knew.

supernatural, southland, hunter, let me tell you how i really feel, zac, movies
