[Uxie was a patient creature. He had taken a five-week course in Mu training honed his mind to tune out pain, to spam Endure hold fast until his body's natural processes made the aches and agonies recede. He was grateful to Dana for her intervention; there was absolutely nowhere else he would have rather been than safely tucked away from the world

She didn't have any money okay, nothing wrong with stealing a soda or two.

He hadn't been this worked up since that whole Thief fiasco of... gosh, was it really almost two years ago??... and he was making sure that no stone went unturned. He was going to find the person or persons responsible for stringing up his friends and he was either going to bash them into gravy or drag them to the headmaster by the hair.
His footsteps were surprisingly light for someone who wore ridiculously heavy shoes. Walking quietly down the corridor, his nose twitched. There was pain in the air. Blood scent - not exactly fresh, but close enough. He immediately became even more alert. Hopefully he could track down the source of it. His nose was sensitive, but he wasn't a bloodhound by any stretch of the imagination.
He wandered past the soda machine, eyes scanning the hallway ahead.

Yes, he would do nicely. How fortunate for Knuckles that one of the victims of that stringing incident happened to be right under his nose.
Uxie huddled down again, hoping that a cry would attract his attention.

His eyes scanned over the hallway behind him - and there it was. No wonder he'd missed it, the poor little thing was curled into a ball and wasn't big enough to notice unless you knew where to look.
He closed the small gap between them fast, dropping to his knees. He recognized it now - it was Uxie.
"Professor! What are you doing out here!?" He said, alarmed. "You're injured - you oughta be resting!"

Not very long ago, Samus had the very supposed Being of Knowledge in her hands and she let him go. She was going to find him again.
Samus expected more cryptic answers but she wouldn't know until she hunted him down and asked.

Ah, the Hunter! He'd expected to see her sooner or later. This was a woman who was fond of shaking hornet's nests; it didn not surprise him one bit that she didn't accept the Original One's vague replies, but sought her own truth.
Uxie pulled himself further into the corner. How exciting... would the infamous Hunter take notice of this small and insignificant thing tucked away on the ground, or would she walk right past? Even in his pained state, he simply couldn't refuse the chance to make a game of it -- he was a fairy down to his very core.

Had he not been in so much pain, he could have giggled. She'd caught the scent; could she follow it back to him?
It might have been the tiniest little glimmer in one of the gems embedded in his tail that gave him away, barely more that the smallest ripple of movement. Even if he'd resolved to stay still... Uxie couldn't resist peeking.

Uxie, however, had known Arceus the Original One far before he'd known Bob the human. This was a rare glimpse of -- though he would never use the term himself -- mother, as he knew her. The same one who would scold a far-younger pixie for far more benign childish mischief, for letting his curiosity get him into things he oughtn't. For a brief, flickering instant, there was the desire to set his dignity aside, to reach up to mother and beg to be forgiven and cry about how much he was hurting ( ... )

But then Houndoom, who he kept out as security, strayed from his side and sniffed around the vendor, growling slightly.
"Curious," Cyrus muttered as he approached. And saw the Fairy curled up. "...Uxie. So you survived."

He regarded Houndoom for a moment, then lifted his head to Cyrus once more. "Recall your dog, if you please. That growling is making me quite uneasy."

Thought the fact that he remained immobile, still huddled on the ground, probably hinted otherwise.
