At work, in the elevator with one other lady this morning. A second lady gets on and says, "Hey, y'all smell good!" The first lady looks nervous and doesn't reply, so I start sniffling very loudly, like a dog snuffling, which makes me laugh, and the commenter laugh and the first lady exit quickly at the next floor

Some people need to learn to just roll with it. At the least give a small polite laugh, right?

I'm sorry you missed out on Merry Wives but glad you had a nice family celebration and PIE! Pie is *always* good.
