I didn't understand much of Chronicles apart the obvious parts (Ohkura feeding the world and so on) but averall the little 'nakayoshi' challenge was hilarious and I liked it sooooo much ^O
( ... )
YokoMaru and the parfait was amazing. They were really coordinated. Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised - if there's anything those two would manage to do without hands, and do it well, it would be eating desserts. XD
Ah, thank you for your translation of the sketch! <3 I did understand that mailing with the friend, Ohkura invited and uninvited Yoko a few times, but I didn't catch that the friend asked to eat with Ohkura alone. I thought it was just scheduling stuff (wasn't there something about a message sent to the wrong person?). I totally get why they would point out that it was fiction, and even had that giant FAKE at the bottom the whole time. It did look like a hidden camera, and the whole story was such an everyday scenario. It took me a moment to understand that I was watching an act, not a dokkiri or something.
I hope you had a chance to get your hands on some birthday cake by now. :D

I like Chronicle better than Janiben, and I don't even feel bad about it. It's a concentrated version of everything I enjoy about Janiben (member interaction, physical comedy I can understand with my negligible Japanese skills, random challenges/topics) minus what I can live without (mostly the last half hour of Janiben: ranking games). Then again, I have to admit that Janiben never was a clear favorite for me. Can!Jani and Kanpani always were serious contenders. But after three episodes of Chronicle and previews for the fourth, I'd say Janiben, Can!Jani and Kanpani are now reduced to fighting over which show gets second place in my "Favourite Kanjani8 Shows Of All Time Ranking". XD
I liked the first episode of Chronicle already, but it was nothing compared to 002 and 003. Kanjani in public have to hold back but Kanjani on their own? Roughhousing, overdramatic flailing, senseless shouting, complex plotting and calling each other on their shit, that's EXACTLY what I'm here for. So, yeah, I get you.
