I didn't understand much of Chronicles apart the obvious parts (Ohkura feeding the world and so on) but averall the little 'nakayoshi' challenge was hilarious and I liked it sooooo much ^O^ Thanks for your impressions though, for there were things and words I did not get and now all fits in place!
There are several lines of yours that just made me CRACK, I need to quote, sorry XD XD: Ohkura, professional heartthrob, handfeeds Ryo and Hina with all the attention and care + Subaru, dedicated troll, threatens to stuff Yoko's face
Yeah right, I'm sure you're just devastated you don't get to go near the excited fangirl. Poor Ryo XD I laughed so hard when Subaru said 'Nishikido Ryo desu', ahhahahahha XD (and my doggie which happened to be beside the couch scolded me by barking when she heard me laugh so hard)
the YokoMaruMachine eating the parfait... OMG they're a war machine! They were!!!! Maru ate so much without losing a single drop of ice cream XD
As for the fake chronicles, I don't get why they had to put fake Ryohkura in there and point it out afterwards "this chronichle was fiction", but I deeply loved the segment: basically Ohkura is arranging a meal with a friend and asks Yoko if he wants to join (or Yoko asks, cannot remember well), but turns out said friend insist with Ohkura going alone with him. Then Ohkura goes out the taxi to answer said friend's call and we hear him say "Ryochan" :p
YokoMaru and the parfait was amazing. They were really coordinated. Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised - if there's anything those two would manage to do without hands, and do it well, it would be eating desserts. XD
Ah, thank you for your translation of the sketch! <3 I did understand that mailing with the friend, Ohkura invited and uninvited Yoko a few times, but I didn't catch that the friend asked to eat with Ohkura alone. I thought it was just scheduling stuff (wasn't there something about a message sent to the wrong person?). I totally get why they would point out that it was fiction, and even had that giant FAKE at the bottom the whole time. It did look like a hidden camera, and the whole story was such an everyday scenario. It took me a moment to understand that I was watching an act, not a dokkiri or something.
I hope you had a chance to get your hands on some birthday cake by now. :D
