Cesare's x-rays were normal. He's feeling perkier today, ate pretty good, has been busy picking on his sisters when he's not napping or cuddling with me. Ultrasound is Monday. I'm beat and the cough is getting pretty bad again. There's a spot at the back of my throat that's just raw, freaking air hits it wrong and I start choking and gagging. ( Read more... ) -

Tonight Cesare is having x-rays, Monday night he'll have an ultrasound. I can hear my credit card screaming in a tiny voice. Looking for thickening of organ walls or tumors. He still isn't eating much, but he does want to play. I didn't sleep much last night; I woke up every time he came by Zia's food bowl to graze, but at least he was doing ( Read more... ) -
Oh, Chezzie.
He won't eat. His calcium count is high, and since his kidney/liver/pancreas are checking OK, we are now looking for lymphoma.

My Cantarella Crew...
...won't eat. NONE of them. Chezzie is the worst, since he's still under the weather. He refuses to eat the prescription food that would prevent (crosses fingers) another episode. I think there's some jealousy or some "grass is always greener on the other side" going on here, but I am at present clueless on how to fix it. Plus I have Sithcat ( Read more... ) -

Cesare has had another round of subcue fluids and is sulking down in the basement. At least he's peeing like a champion! I'm home because I puked in the shower this morning and my stomach's still wonky, even though I'm pretty sure coughing was the cause. Well, shit, he's sick again. Now looking at changing his diet, plus I need to take him in to the vet for the next 3 mornings for subcue fluids because I'm incapable of administering (big long needle, gack). It's raining outside.
Haven't smelled that damp but fresh smell for a while. It's been raining all morning. Hope it helps the drought situation. The corn fields still look pretty good out by my parents' house but the farmers are saying the corn is 'stressed' so I'm sure this is welcome to them ( Read more... ) -
Progress.
As of late last night, all 3 cats are living on the same floor. The girls are still ostracizing Cesare, but Zia's approaching him now and Chiaro isn't flying for the basement. So at least I can make sure that everybody has eaten/drank/used the litter box. Phew! Now if only the girls (especially Chi) would stop hissing and growling at him. He ( Read more... ) -
It is hell at my house right now.
Cesare came home screaming last night. Why? Because the vets who told me "don't give him a bath" GAVE HIM A BATH. He was soaked and hadn't eaten and traumatized and had a huge freak out. Unfortunately he smelled different and his freak out made both girls freak out. I've seen Chiaro maybe a few minutes today since I can't pry her out of the ( Read more... ) -
Cesare is at the kitty hospital.
He was having trouble urinating Sunday, although he wasn't in pain and was eating and lively. When he hit the litter pan 3 times in an hour Monday AM, I took him in to the vet. (Note to self: don't wait next time, cause if he'd been blocked instead of irritated, he would've died.) They needed a urine sample and didn't want to do a bladder tap ( Read more... )
