Spring in Saskatchewan = Winter

I'm never surprised when it snows in April.  Annoyed, yes, but never surprised.

The howling wind woke me at 3 a.m. and when I got up to go to work this morning, my van was covered in snow and surrounded in snow drifts.  The winds were crazy, 70-100 km per hour!  That kind of wind blowing around the snow made for a bit of a tense drive to work.  The ( Read more... )

Given that I have never, ever seen snow like this, I have a stupid question. I assume the wind blows it up like that? I'm amazed.

lol - yes, it's the wind that blows it up into drifts, otherwise it would just be flat and level on every surface. Many of the lawns in town have no snow on them, but then the driveways might be buried in a snowdrift just from the direction the wind is blowing.

Man, Halifax just doesn't get snow like that, even in the dead of winter. Cape Breton does but not us. I would cry if I woke up this morning and my newly hatched Daffodils were buried in snow.

That last photo of the pickup buried is just C.R.A.Z.Y. I'm not surprised by snow in April either... but it's no fun. Gr. Hope it all melts soon!
