Yep, I'm still here.  No time for posting these days as I'm fighting a daily (losing) battle with study cards, notes, binders full of clinical practice guidelines, and textbooks.  I skype at night with Jack and the girls and spend most of my time yawning.  My day ends right around the time that another one begins, I set my alarm, read a few pages ( Read more... )

Thanks D. I'm sure you remember what this was like. I look around my room and see piles of books in various stages of review and wonder how on earth I'm going to get to them all :-/

I do remember! I burned through many pens and highlighters, too--and began to feel like a human encyclopedia, spouting crazy facts at the slightest provocation. The index cards were what I came up with, too--a way to distill the information into the "talking points"--the things I would need to repeat to a client (including the numbers that I tend to forget easily). Plus, I could write them at random while reading something, without really interrupting myself too much.

It's funny, I did the same thing at night, too--read a few pages of something unrelated (for me, it was Douglas Adams IIRC) and conked out like someone had hit me over the head with a hammer.

Hope today is a great one.
