Yeah I wrote 2500 words on Stardust yesterday. For the LAST chapter, that is, at least six chapters down the line- but hey! It's working! I'm writing! I even got back into writing past tense! \o/

Not quite twenty-four hours ago I realized, with some shock, that Camp NaNo starts tomorrow. I've thought about it a little bit, in theory; about what story to write and how to cope with the ongoing flood of other ideas and what my goal is- so I'm not entirely unprepared. So I have 26 or so plotbunny tags, give or take one where I may have been confused by the different font sizes in my tag cloud. In my stories folder, I have 36 (and that's counting the Mysterious Novel-Length Epic and its sequel as one story, and I had at least one bunny that I never wrote down). So what the hell, math? So someone sent me an email asking me if they could have Stockholm as a PDF file, or make one themselves. I was floored, one, because someone likes my story enough to carry it around with them, and two, because they're polite and respectful enough to ask. Needless to say I was super excited.

So I finally, finally managed to get that wretched prologue for Berserk finished. In my defense it was a) technically a short story, at going on 9000 words, and b) mostly description of events, which is not my strong suit (as I've mentioned before).

So I've made serious headway on the next chapter for Stardust (on the order of several thousand words), and I've also made some progress with the beginning of Berserk- not much in quantity, but I finally feel like it's getting some of the dread across, so that's very yay ( Read more... )

Sometimes I worry that the mysterious Ryo-story  (my God, that story really needs a name, doesn't it) will simmer to death on the back burner, like my projects tend to do. But the truth is that it keeps happening, keeps growing and shaping up and re-shaping all on its own, and that is both delightful and thrilling.
