line edit and posting of new chapter coming up probably the first week of May.

I didn't do Camp last year. I didn't do Camp in July, either. Last year was crazy (in good and in bad ways both). Stardust is exactly where it was a year ago -I think-, Berserk definitely is exactly where it was a year ago. Boydaughter, on the other hand, is an almost complete first draft (one major scene missing), at ~150.000 words. I know! Me!

The upcoming chapter of Stardust is at around 4k words. Which means if I manage to write ~500 words a day I'll have it at chapter length before Nano starts. Which would be good.
Also I just called in sick (because I'm sick) so it might happen.

Of course, as November looms just down the road, I'm not so sure anymore I should write the gender story. I'm not going to dedicate Nano to Stardust, I've tried that before, it didn't happen- but maybe I could use it to finish Berserk. Or, uh, some other stories. Stardust is difficult (yes, I'm still working on that). The next chapter is a hard one, although I struggled with all of the last few, but this one is, essentially, one long chapter of saying goodbye (you didn't think I would spare them that, did you?) and I'm honestly not even in that kind of tragic headspace. "Only snippets missing", while technically true, turned into another thousand words. I have all of one paragraph missing now, one that I'm too tired and jetlagged to write right now, but the rest of the chapter is edited and ready to go. Down time too, now. So there's that.

I'm on vacation. For some reason I expected to be able to write 1600 words a day while touring Japan. Let's, uh, let's just say this is not the case.

I have changed my goal as follows: I want to get the next chapter of Stardust up and the following chapter finished (pre-edit) during Camp. The actual word count is going to be secondary. The thing ( Read more... )

So it's, um... it's going. Yeah. The ex randomly called for no apparent reason and that cost me two days where I didn't write a single word, but hey, only two days this time, right? So I'm behind right now (by almost 6k) but I might still be able to catch up and in all honesty even if I don't make the full 50k it's still words that I have written. ( Read more... )
