So, I actually gave up trying to sleep some more at around 07:33 this morning. This being after trying to get to sleep around 02:30, failing miserably, and thus ending up reading, and even having a sandwich, before going to sleep sometime not long before 04:00 ( Read more... )

Thanks for the info :).

But as you say, probably not what's happening with me. In my case my tonsils have always been large, and this is the first time I've had an actual problem with them since childhood. This started a week ago Saturday with a slightly sore throat, which I thought was the pre-cursor to a cold, it wasn't until Wednesday I think it was that the tonsil was noticably swollen.

I *try* to gargle each time I brush my teeth to keep things clean but about half the time my gag reflex doesn't co-operate.
