Characters: Snape and Harry Location: Snape/Potter Flat Time: Week before the ball(after dancing with a snake thread) Status: private Summary: Snape finally gets Harry his kitty
Harry cocked his head to the side just enough so Snape could see his smile. His glasses slipped down his nose, but he made no move to fix them. Family. He wondered if maybe he wasn't flushing with pleasure at Snape's acknowledgment.
"I like this season," he announced, his toes just finally thawing in his thick socks. The heater kicked on with a rumble and Harry knew it wouldn't be long before the apartment was nice and warm.
"It does rather feel as though we're starting fresh and new, doesn't it?" Snape asked thoughtfully. He wasn't quite sure how to broach the next topic, so he decided to just drive right in.
"Harry, would you like to marry some day?" he asked, looking at the boy who had just stilled next to him.
Harry froze. Did he really just say that? He ran his index and middle finger through the soft fluff of the cat before tipping his head back against the couch cushion so he was looking at Snape upside down.
He was almost hesitant to say yes because he wasn't certain he wouldn't get laughed at. "Y-yes," he stammered, swallowing around the lump in his throat. "Why?"
"Curiosity I think. I was wondering on what the answer would be if I ever asked you," he said frowning slightly. "At least now I know you're not vehemently opposed...it's just nice to know."
Harry stared at him suspiciously for a long moment before returning his attention to his newest aquistion. The baby cat was purring in time to the rise and fall of his chest and he grinned.
"Persephone," he said trying out the name and almost startled when the kitten turned its tiny head to look at him.
