"It would seem that you've won our guest over with your boyish charm," Snape said, smiling. "I'm going to set up the litter box and get toys and various other things we bought for the no doubt soon to be spoiled little girl," he said, smiling fondly at the kitten resting on Harry's chest.

"She's yours, Potter, and no one is going to take her away from you," Snape reminded him with a gentle smile.

"I'll be back in a few moments," Snape said, pulling shrunken down items from his pocket as he walked down the hall.

Harry nodded distractedly, as he set the little kitten down on the floor. It stayed frozen for a moment cocking its head to the side as it stared at him with wide blueberry colored eyes. Harry grinned and lay down on his stomach next to it, grabbing a piece of paper off the table as he went down. He ran it along the hardwood floor laughing as the kitten was suddenly focused solely on the piece of paper. Suddenly, it pounced, gripping at the paper with its very tiny claws.

Snape returned to find Harry laying on the floor, the kitten pawing at a piece of paper. "We did by toys you know," Snape said, sitting on the couch and handing Harry a little toy mouse, and a little ball with a bell inside. He couldn't help but return Harry's smile.

Harry rolled his eyes. "So? You had them all. I improvised."

"First day home and she gets a paper cut," Snape said, snatching the paper away from the tiny claws. "We're going to need to have her de-clawed so she doesn't destroy the furniture," Snape said as Harry dangled the little mouse above her head. "Though there's not exactly a medi-vet around here," he added frowning.
