[ What up, Tranquility. There's a man on your video feed looking pretty damn tired, despite appearing (and acting) otherwise cheerful. Ohhhhh boy, it's been awhile since he's done his Temple TV stuff, but this is. Basically the same. Right? Okay. Just do it.Hi. Connor Temple here. Question: any experience with comm systems?
Reply
in general? yeah, quite a bit actually. why?

I was wondering if there was a way to link them up again. Create a subnetwork independent of the Tranquility systems.
Overgrown walkie-talkies, essentially. Since I'm guessing there's no way to reintroduce Icarus' AI component without a free-standing mainframe.

i think i saw popcorn in one of the kitchens, but don't quote me
it may have been dehydrated, so we'll see how/if it reconstitutes.
are we sure they're going to have movies we'll recognize though?
if this is another universe and all.

which is why i'm kind of hoping for that top 10 list...
so we don't have to use trial and error.

future space movies and all that
less comforting, though, i guess
which was sort of the original purpose?
still, it might work if you make a sort of blanket couch fort thing and drag everyone into the same room.

Does USB data cable ring a bell? Or just USB, actually. Universal Serial Bus?
-Hang on. [ SHUFFLING THROUGH PAPER OFF TO THE SIDE ] If it's possible, I'll need some metal, too. Aluminum, chromium, iron, palladium, platinum... um, a welding machine, an electrode holder with a lead-a lot of leads-a ground clamp and electrodes. Probably a chipping hammer. And a wire brush. Is any of this on board?

the video's back on now.]
USB doesn't ring any bells, no.
[he is from an alternate future and what is this.]
Aluminum and iron shouldn't be a problem. The others... maybe, but I wouldn't count on it-and you'll have to ask Resnik where the tools are.
What are you trying to make? [THIS IS A TOTALLY INNOCENT QUESTION but no, seriously, you should probably answer it.]

Thanks. [ SOB ] She's probably back home. Which is probably better than being here, so...
[ ... ]
Sorry, how old are you?

[ There's a small pause. She's trying not to laugh at the frequency of the question, but the poor guy's confused ]
How old is this body, or how old am I in actuality? Unfortunately, they're two seperate questions.
Reply
Let's go with both. Both answers. To both questions.

[ seriously that isn't the only thing she got from the post. she has to feel him out first before jumping to tech questions okay?! ]

Why?
Would they even have anything from back home? Assuming you're from Earth obviously.
