I'm alive.

I'm doing other things. Mostly trying to finish a PhD. But other internet-like things too, however I'm not ready for those worlds to collide.

I just wanted to say hello, and hope whoever reads this is doing well. I'll try to poke my head in more often. x

Jennifer Jones was a stunning actress, although she isn't very well-known today due to being rather reclusive later on. But more importantly, she was my oldest friend's grandmother. It was always amazing to watch Jones' films and see my childhood best friend's face.

After much hemming and hawing, I finally decided that, yes, I would be miserable sitting at home tonight (even WITH the X Factor finals!) knowing that Depeche Mode was playing at the SECC. So I recruited a partner and crime, AND managed to secure two standing tickets for £10 UNDER face value EACH (bless gumtree!), and so tonight will be ENJOYING ( Read more... )

This evening, sensaes and I had an absolutely exquisite meal at La Vallee Blanche here in Glasgow. For those of you in Scotland (or planning a trip), do NOT miss this place. Making bread has been my new sanity project.  My first two attempts didn't quite work - dense, bland, and in the case of the last, actually TOO sour.
