So I am on day two of my "large animal" EMS placement. I was hoping for more farm animals but they are mostly horses. Oh well. I needed them too. I am hanging with the interns mostly (they have confirmed in my mind that I do NOT want to do an internship). They are very nice and helpful though. It went ok I think, which makes me slightly nervous as when I think I did well, I generally didn't. Oh well, nothing I can do now. I went to this lecture last week about deer health (I was under the impression it was mandatory, which it turned out was false, but it was good anyway). It was by a vet who also owns a deer farm near-ish to Edinburgh. He was funny and it was a good talk but the best bit was that he said his farm had a stall at the farmer's market in town. We have been doing food chapter in my spanish class and it always makes me hungry. None of the people in my class knew what empanadas were. I love them and I remember that Mom had a good recipe that she used to make. I harassed her and got the recipe. M, my mom's eskie, had 3 baby girls today! I really <3 skype as it allowed me to watch and offer soothing advice to my slightly frantic mother, who was home alone and slightly caught off guard (they were 3 days early). I miss birthdays from when I was a kid. It feels like such a non-incident now and that depresses me. I dunno. It was a good day and all, but it was just a day like any other, which is sad in my mind. Maybe it is because I am so far away from my family and such. Oh well. At least this year there was cake.

OMG! I might be going to China next year! Yay! Go to vet school and see exotic places I say. They are doing a 2 week trip to a vet school in Beijing. It is hardly for sure yet, but I am really excited anyway.
