I feel I should add a little color to my last post… while we were getting ready to attend the surprise party, we learned that a friend of Andrea’s lost their 66 year old mother after she succumbed to her fight agains cancer. So, it’s not that I’m (completely) morbid that I’d immediately think “deceased” upon seeing the slide show at the surprise

Last night, we had the honor of attending a surprise 60th birthday party for a woman we both admire. I’m not sure how much of a surprise it was for the guest of honor but it was a wonderful celebration. When we arrived at the church function hall that was hosting this event, a slide show cycled through many moments, stitched together to form a

Several years ago, when I was a pre-teen, I went on a camping trip to Wisconsin with my parents. When we were setting up our tent, the middle support pole inexplicably bent and then broke into two, unusable pieces. It’s Sunday and that means my second visit to Kripalu is drawing to an end. Interestingly, the first and last time I visited Kripalu preceded great change as well. While I was here, my mom, who had been living with us at the time, was back in Illinois in search of a new home to move back to there. Also, Andrea was in the process of leaving her

Lately, I’ve been thinking about writing more. After school I mean. I only have one class left for grad school but that class requires me to write a 30-50 page paper. So, I will be writing more when that class starts next week but not the way I’ve been considering. I like to write and have all these stories bouncing around inside my head that I
