Anyone know what the funding situation for PhDs at California Universities now that the state is bankrupt and the economy is hurting? I'm interested in a few schools, but I'd like to make sure they'll be able to support me before I invest the time/money in applying to them. I am accepted to 2 PhD programs, one with full funding and the other one I'm on the waitlist for funding. However, the program that offers me funding keeping asking me to answer with the official letter by today even though the deadline is Wednesday.
