The February 1st issue of Library Journal shares good news about the reading habits of Americans.

Dyeing Yesterday
I am strongly drawn to color and form/shape. I've wanted to do illumination for the colors, but seem to have gotten into dyeing instead. I'm not complaining.... ;-)
Everything that has been waiting to be dyed lately is finished.

Byzantine Dinner Party
The evite went out today. The dinner party will be on Saturday, February 28th at my house. I've dropped the throw down challenge since Chris' laptop was stolen and his company was in the process of backing up the data. He is not much in the mood for a contest right about now. He will, however, make something to bring.

Making a "viking" wool hood lined with linen
So I started making an early period hood today. It will mainly be worn with my viking garb, but you never know. It may pass for other times as well.
It should reach over my shoulders with a bit of a cape. Red wool (same wool as my caftan) lined with a yard dyed linen in greys, blues and light browns. I'm handsewing this one.

I've got the sample article and writing guidelines.
I've put out the call on two lists for photos of pieces to include in the text and on the cover.
I've got my 2004 revised research paper and instructions.
