So I hear Morrissey opened his mouth again. This is never a good thing. He has this awful tendency to spew awful bigoted stupid crap that embarrasses his fans and generally make an arse of himself and make everyone wish he'd just be quiet ( Read more... )

high-handed preachy bullshit, history, maybe you'll learn something, racism not just for middle class girls, puppet theatre horseshit, let me tell you internet, art, worrying aesthetics in my pants, audience participation

Especially the blond ones.

REPRESENTING FOR THE SCANDINAVIAN FETISHISATION FRONT, UNABASHEDLY. <3

For this alone, I feel safe in the knowledge that mad people with loose tongues and brains can still be awesome in other ways.

Absolutely. And because she is not carefully, cautiously correct at all times, the value of her compliment is higher. You know she's not doing it To Be Polite. She's doing it because she means it.

No. That makes you a good person, and in line with the Good Person Ruling Du Jour, as usual.

*eyebrow* I'm not really in line with your type of morality so I don't actually know if there is a REALLY GOOD and a REALLY BAD beyond what people decide to adopt, society-by-society, on consensus, as good and bad. You may have noticed me mentioning that the entire female-identified internet thinks you should be guilty about objectifying people, so your guilt is right and appropriate, and my lack of it is more evidence of my appalling sociopathy.

I objectify a FUCK OF A LOT OF PEOPLE. I don't particularly LIKE people, but I DO like things I find aesthetically pleasing, so it's easy to like pretty people as things. I do frequently have the I WANT TO BURY MY FACE IN HER TITS reaction about the hot ginger from Mad Men, is that the same thing?

CARAVAGGIO WAS A DOUCHE BUT I LOVE HIS PAINTINGS.

Man, sometimes I want to walk into your head and kick your brain until it stops making you feel uncomfortable about everything. By which I mean; OBJECTIFYING PEOPLE IS FUCKING AWESOME. Join the dark side, WE HAVE BOOBIES.

Fortunately it is not a novel that makes me want to chew my own face off in despair; I agree the "I like them so they can't be a douche" thing is a problem. Especially as most of the people I like are douches fairly frequently because incessant niceness makes me want to vomit.

Shut up don't you know books can only be moral or immoral? [haha I will whip out my Wilde and then you'll all be sorry. Oh wait, he was a douche! A BIG CLASSIST EXPLOITATIVE DOUCHE] But yeah. I remain baffled by the ALL OR NOTHING attitude toward things and people. It worries me, too, because, y'know I am a very flawed human being and clearly will be first against the wall when the revolution comes.
