1. That was one amazing fricking speech. Seriously. It gave me goosebumps. Too many wonderful parts to try to list here. Even Pat Buchanan and Bill Kristol (no liberals, they) were extremely impressed by Obama's speech last night. Anyway, to quote Barack, "Eight (years of the BushCo Crowd) is enough." Enough, already. Basta. I wonder if Bush will ( Read more... )

Yes, I heard. WTF indeed. So he talks about experience and picks a complete unknown (outside of ALASKA) who is under investigation in the Ted Stevens thing? Wow, that shows some really good judgment.

I got banned at TWOP for some infraction of the ever-changing rules by a mod who's got an awful stick up his butt. So I had to get a completely new user ID. I love the Cook thread at TWOP too much to never post there again, so I had to make up a new ID. The squeee is a little tweak at the mod, who basically cracks down at anything that seems even vaguely fangirly. There was a lot of discussion about David meeting Lindsey Rose last week and the mod apparently deleted pages and pages of discussion and banned a bunch of other people (not me, I got banned for something tiny and unrelated).

The discussion at TWOP tends toward literate and snarky. I like that a lot. The phrase DC=42 originated there (I was one of the originators :D

I have to admit, that was one of the best speeches EVER, and my older kids even sat and watched the whole thing with me. They commented that it was nice to hear a political speech that EVERYONE could understand, instead of them getting lost five minutes in and it not keeping their attention.

I'm keeping your family (and all of NOLA) in my prayers, hon.

Saw your post on TWoP - welcome back!!!

Have fun at the movies, and thanks again for the e-mail non-chat last night. It was fun, and I've missed actual dialogue with you so so much. :)

1.That speech had me sniffling. It was also wonderful to see the diversity and passion in the crowd that gathered there.

2. Praying hard for everyone in Gustav's path.

5. Does he really think any woman will do?
