After Saturday (which is when the readthrough is) I may shut up about it for a bit, although I've had a really really clever idea for the diss chapter on it. I am so smart. S-M-R-T! I mean S-M-A-R-T!

Anyway, for your amusement, I present to you what is, perhaps, the most obnoxious dialogue in Elizabethan drama.

I'm perusing A.P. Rossiter's edn of Woodstock, which I got used for a low low price not that long ago, and the footnotes very frequently make me giggle in their sort of stuffy conversationality (this edn was published in 1946). 1. There is a pile of quarters sitting on my shelf of which I have no recollection, as I don't recall having quarters at hand. Nevertheless, this is pleasant as it means I can do laundry or park on the street.
