This semester is stupid for many reasons:

- work
- schoolwork 
- maintaining my GPA is hard
- Abbey's not here and neither is any of the old crowd

But it's also good for some reasons, such as I've made a new, very nice group of friends whom I like very much.  And also, Hymn Sing.  And also the fact that I'm going to England next semester.

Hello out there.

Thursday night I hopped on the train and arrived back in Detroit at two in the morning.  I like taking the train, despite the two hour delays, etc.  I like public transport in general, but especially the train.  The first hour or so of the trip is always very busy and loud, and then the food cart opens, so everybody gets in line in ( Read more... )

One of the purest memories I possess revolves around the car ride that we took last September to see Sufjan in Milwaukee.  There are several reasons for this.  Number one, Seven Swans was playing.  I know you're not supposed to listen to an artist right before you see them, but luckily the rest of the people I was with did not know/did not care.  ( Read more... )

Hello.  Summer is nearly gone for me.  This time next week I will be staggering through RA training.  Hopefully it will be ok.

I'm rather done with the park job, but I really really like some of the kids at my park this year.  Really.  Pictures will be up next week.

I'm back at Old Country Buffet for the fifth summer in a row.  This summer there's a twist...I'm working the floor instead of the line, which means I'm bussing tables, etc.  It really, really sucks.  My feet, legs, and back all kill me by the end of a work day.  However, in the mere 14 hours I've worked so far, I've made $200 in tips, which doesn't ( Read more... )
