002 ][ i'll do things for you

Mooching is bad.

Is anyone hiring? I have no useful job skills and I've never been non-self-employed before. Honesty is the best policy.

More importantly, does anyone out there play an instrument? Vocalists? Managers?

Because I'm cursorily interested in seeing if it would be possible to start up a band here. That way I don't have to hold a job

financial independence, gainful employment, something fishy happening here, this situation is confusing and alien, not a panic situation yet, underwhelmed, as nature made him, dingoes ate my baby, mooching is bad

And now I have a good idea of how old you are even without having to do any creepy digging or asking directly.

You do?

You're asking for a job. Stands to reason that you're eighteen. Unless you're just exceptional and productive.

Oh. Right. Otherwise I'd get a...stipend-thing.

I'm closer to nineteen than eighteen actually.

Dude, you want to start up a band? That's awesome! You should talk to horrible_penny! She's got an awesome voice.

Yeah! We were just talking the other day about how she should join a band, but she thought nobody would want her. But you should hear her sing, bro. I mean, she needs work and stuff, but girl's got talent.

Not that I am not totally open to any and all qualified takers, but do you figure she'd be interested in a grunge alternative band? Kind of an important qualifier.

I'd make a damned sexy front man.

But can you sing?

Even when I try to hum out of tune, it somehow ends up in tune.

I can sing. More or less. I sing at Blue's bar, the Blue Light-- seems like you've already met him.

Yeah. Isn't he kinda young to be running a bar?

What do you sing?

voice hundredflowers June 11 2009, 03:13:17 UTC
Anything can happen here-- and I don't think he's as young as he looks, really. But that's not as bad as the time a young girl ran her own bar. Think she's left, though.

Mmm... whatever people have me sing. To date, only songs for revolutionary rallies and jazz for the bar, though.

So he's immortal. Oh.

Have you ever heard of alternative music?

Unfortunately I can't seem to find other members. I mean, the kind with the experience and devotion I would need to start a new band. By which I mean the kind I could make money with.

Not that money is the goal. But I already owe everyone. I'd like to be fiscally responsible.

it makes it less angsty at least? :P awillowywitch June 11 2009, 04:31:39 UTC
Well, I'm sure you'll find someone! Or people. I mean, there's all kinds of people here, so someone's bound to want to.

But I'm sure no one minds. The you being dependent for awhile thing.
