Today is a WAH day, and I was sitting here minding my own business, and WHAM--the power went out (Paul posts about it here as well).

It was So. Much. FUN. It was like being in school again, and cutting class! ;-) We weren't even gone that long--just long enough to snag some breakfast, but it made a world of difference ( Read more... )

you're lucky you have power back. It's unusually cold here in Scotland, particularly in the Borders region. My sister lives in Kelso.

Guess which town has NO gas for heating or cooking and has been without gas since Sunday? I'm half expecting a family invasion any moment now!

It's cold here, too--I'm just glad it didn't happen at night, because it warms up a bit when the sun comes up, but there was ice in the birdbath this morning. And because everything in this house is electric, there's no heat, no hot water, no nothing.

And I can't even imagine going that way for days--so yeah, if I were your family, I'd probably be in your house right now!

From the time you begin school, all the teachers ask you, "Where are you supposed to be?"

It's kind of fun being somewhere that you're not supposed to be!
