Well that was fun
It's my day off and Belle is working at home today so I was down in the kitchen getting ready to make some breakfast when BOOM! The power went out.
This happens occasionally around here but it usually comes back on in a minute or two, so when it didn't we called the power company. They said they were checking it out and gave us an estimated time of two hours before we'd have power again.
Normally this wouldn't have been too big of a deal. It's cold outside (40°) but the house is closed up. The problem was that I was about to make breakfast and all our appliances are electric. Sure, I could have gone out and used the grill, but that would mean letting some cold air in so we went out to Mal's instead.
I don't know if I'd call it playing hooky, but it was a nice break in an otherwise ordinary day.
