When I first started eating oatmeal in high school, my dad and I would share a variety pack from Costco. While I would eat a couple a day, he would bring a whole bunch to work to leave in his desk and eat for breakfast. i started with the flavored instant packs, then the light flavored packs, to the plain packs, to the whole rolled oats that you cook, and now i just eat plain steel cut oats.

Do you find that your taste buds are much more sensitive to flavor now?

My friends said that steel cut oats take 30 minutes to make. Do you make a fresh batch every morning?

yeah but it doesn't have to take 30 minutes. i'd say more like 20. depends on how you cook it. you can also soak the oats the night before to cook faster.

i used to eat oatmeal for breakfast when i was on a strict diet. id totally cheat and sprinkle a bit of sugar and milo (to make it chocolate flavor). its SO good!

ps: i only put a sprinkle, so its not really cheating :P

Ooo chocolate flavored oatmeal? I've never tried that before.

I used to eat plain oatmeal and Splenda when I was limiting my sugar in-take.

yup! try it. its very good and you wont want to hurl after. i cant eat plain oatmeal! its just torture for me! i love sugary cereals or a big slice of bread! LOL.

It's almost as quick as instant kind.
