Yesterday some friends and I went to Tiger Stadium, this popular amusement center in the Seven Wonders District of the city. It offers bowling, pool, batting cages, arcades, and many other small things here and there. We went bowling. During one game, I bowled a 207, which is a personal best for me. Being an American in Taiwan, I'm expected to know everything when it comes to English or all things American. People here think I know about every freeway in America and every chain store in the country despite how regional they may be. I never thought that the first time I appeared in court would be in Taiwan. Mr. Liao, my old landlord, refuses to return my security deposit. He's always coming up with excuses, telling me when he'll be able to give me back how much, but when the time comes, he just recycles his steps and we go through the never-ending dance yet another time. Whoever said you can't buy happiness must have never heard of retail therapy. I've been a big fan of retail therapy for the past six years. The basic concept is that you buy stuff to make yourself happy, or happier, I should say. The treatment does have its limits, but within them, it's actually quite effective.
