Still sick today, but more functional - that is, I'm not fast asleep. Still have sore tummy though. Blah.

Not feeling very well at the moment. Felt a bit off this morning on the way to work, and just got worse from there, so I came home. Went straight back to bed at 10.30 and didn't really wake up until 6.30pm.

Was just looking at my payslip and wondering where all my leave had gone. Turns out that prior to getting chicken pox I was already on -0.5 days sick leave from pneumonia etc, so I had to use a week of annual leave to actually get paid ( Read more... )

My pox sores finally scabbed over (such a charming thing to say...), which means I'm no longer contagious, and so I finally made it back to work, 10 days after the first spots showed up - a good thing too, considering that I'm now on -0.5 sick days.

I thinks its pretty stupid to limit people to only 8 days of paid sick leave - because then they come to work when they really should be at home, and make everyone else sick. I had three days off last week with a cold. I probably should have had five. My sick leave allowance starts in August. I have five days of sick leave left for the next 10 ( Read more... )

He got kicked out the back door around 6.30am on Sunday morning, and his whinging to be let back in finally got me up around 11. What is it about the contents of one's nostrils that is so fascinating? We all do it - blow nose (or excavate with digit), inspect evacuated material. Ostensibly, I guess we are checking for blood, or foreign bodies, or some other sign that something is wrong, but really, I think we're just curious as to what shade of green our boogers are this ( Read more... )
