Right, so back from camp early as we got rained out. I also broke out in spots starting Wednesday... So I spent the last few days trying to stay out of the rain, and trying not to scratch.
Tues/Wed - The emergency exercise went well, lots of people died. Not getting a chance to lie down for over 24 hours is really hard on your back. I'm sure I'll have more coherent comments if anyone has any questions, but right now, I'm not exactly at my best.
Wed - Got home at 7:30am - was quite weird walking against the flow of people at that time of the morning. Immediately crawled into bed and went to sleep only to be woken at 9am by Matt arriving to take me to camp. I leapt out of bed and my calf cramped, so I had to spend a few minutes trying to get it to hold weight. Arrived on site during light drizzle, nothing too bad. In fact, the weather was really nice and sunny on Wednesday afternoon, luckily I remembered to put sunscreen on. Noticed what I thought was a pimple on my shoulder, but prodding it instilled a sense of dread - not a pimple, more of a pustule... Pitched tents, had a nap, cooked dinner, stayed up relatively late - I have no idea what the time was. It rained during the night, but no worries except for the fever and chills.
Thurs - Spots... I got the pox with the dots. Everyone on site had had chicken pox except for Sonya, so I suspect she will have an interesting week starting in little less than a fortnight. Sorry! We got most of the oven done on Thursday, but the rain also set in. Maggie took the kids home since Maddie at least was terrified about the storm warning. Slept in the tent, well, slept periodically between gusts of wind and heavy rain. My trench worked well. Shame about the drips which kept landing on my bed and in my ear...
Friday - More rain, had to hammer in 4 of the pegs around the base of the tent which had been yanked up by the wind in the night, I'd wondered why the flapping had gotten louder... The guys had built a shelter over the oven, so got that finished and fired up. Fresh bread...mmm...
