Is Xeloda working?

So. Freaking. Tired.
I feel more and more tired every day ( Read more... ) -
Xeloda, day 3 and 4
Feeling much better the last two days. I'm still tired, but today was quite tolerable. No zombie, hit on the head feeling. Headache is gone.
Still have dry mouth, but that's not so bad.
If it all goes like this, I'm totally good with Xeloda. Let's hope it works on the tumours. -

Results of the xrays came in yesterday: no problems there, so I don't need radiation on arms and legs as my oncologist thought I might. Yay. I'm still not supposed to lift anything heavy, but I'm not in imminent danger of fracturing bones ( Read more... ) -

Rang Dr D today and he said that I don't have a problem with the arm and thigh bones, so i won't need radiation there. Yay. At least one piece of good news.
I'm on the second day of the Xeloda pills. So far, I feel utterly wiped, far beyond what I've felt before. Walking up the street involved a rest halfway (it's about 200m trip) and really ( Read more... ) -
Chemo.
Finally today I got results from the scans of last week. It's bad news.
The liver mets have grown. The bone mets have spread and grown.
I knew something was wrong. All that fatigue getting worse.
Dr D informed me I can't use any hormonals any more. I've used up all the different types there are, and the cancer is now resistant to them. That ( Read more... ) -

I'm having scanxiety. I had an MRI and bone scan last week, plus blood tests, and I get the results tomorrow ( Read more... ) -
Update at last
I had some scans in September, and it seems that my hormonal treatment (Femara) is shrinking the liver tumours a little. In the process of telling me this, my oncologist Dr D showed me the scans on his puter. Not only do I have four large tumours there but also, I have hundreds of tiny little ones called "diffuse", all over the liver ( Read more... ) -
Sleeping and stuff
I'm gradually getting my sleeping under control. I've been having terrible trouble with it, no problem falling asleep, but waking 4 hours later and not going back to sleep.
I've downloaded some meditations onto my iphone, and listen to them when I wake. It's working a treat - giving me something to focus on other than my swirling random thoughts. ( Read more... )
