Honestly, I don't think it's Eric that is doing it. I doubt this was in his 5 year plan.
I have a feeling it's Dawn doing it, and Eric is leaking it out to the fan base to get us upset, knowing we will, so we will scream and yell and get rid of them.
Is it too much to ask that the one that looks to be for Dean will actually be a lesbian, and the one that seems to be for sam is very short, so that it just won't work and be funny? Then they can just DIE?
I'm thinking of writing to Dawn and saying STAY out of it. And then to Kripke and saying, don't write Mary-sues!
Thanks so much for the link about Ostroff being behind all this crap. [sigh]

See, now I can totally see Eric doing just that, since he was fighting this for so long. And guess what? It's working! I know I'll be writing my letter to Ostroff ASAP.

I really hate when they start to f_ _k around with the shows we love. I guess with just the two lads they (being Eric) felt the show needed female eye candy for the males out there. Maybe the guys were getting to close, oh butt wait they're brothers. You and I both know that when the two male leads start to get cozy they have to throw in that female bimbo so you don't think the guys are, hold it, "Gay" Haven't they ever heard of brotherly love. Gee, who knows maybe the female will be gay and take Sam & Dean to some really great hot spots. Guess one can only dream about a show like that.....

Sounds like Sentinel with Cassie all over again, doesn't it?

And again I give TS as an example! Luckily we got rid of Cassie pretty darn quick, so I'm hoping that the same will happen with these two bimbos.

I understand teh boys need breaks but fuck I hope it isnt gonna turn out to be a marysue fest and bad acting like Jo did. Jo had so much potential and they made her blow it. The regular thing bothers because honestly they dont need to be regular they just need to be there. What I dont understand is that there are a few characters that can be made into regulars and have much more a profound effect on things like hello where is Missouri... can we get more Bobby and Ellen seriously what the hell is is Bella & Ruby gonna bring... regularly but overused and badly scripted sexual tension ??? The one thing I hoped for in this show is to get away from that and fall to the cliche that all networks thing brings in the money. I seriously hope that Dawn has nothing to do with this ... its already thin ice between me and her and I dont even know her but I surely dont want to after seeing how she treats the show

You KNOW it's gonna turn out to be just that.

Yes! Yes! I've missed Missouri something fierce. And Bobby - gotta love that man.

Yep, that's exactly what it's gonna turn out to be. Nice, eh? Something to look forward to!
I have faith in Kripke... he just better not let me down again
At least our faith in Eric wasn't misplaced. He's been fighting this for two years now. I just wonder how much creative control Ostroff is gonna flex over the storylines with freaking Bela and Ruby. Will she force him to bring them front and center?
I really think that it's a HUGE mistake to add these Buffy Barbies. One is a better hunter than Dean? One has a mysterious background? Gosh, then what do we need Sam and Dean around for?
Argh. I hate, hate, hate this. I was so excited about season three, and now all that excitement is gone. This is worse than having the Impala/Semi crash hanging over the fandom, because I don't think there's even much potential for *hope*.
And yeah, I saw that post about Dawn and Eric fighting it for two years. [sigh]
Gosh, then what do we need Sam and Dean around for?
See, we WON'T, because just watch, Ostroff will set this up as a spin-off with these two Barbies and cancel SPN so that now it's "her" show.

You hit the nail on the head right there. If Dawn is pulling the strings and flexes creative control over the Bela and Ruby storylines, Eric's hands are tied and there will be no hope at all that Eric can somehow salvage anything out of this mess. :-(
Unless something changes drastically between now and September regarding this, I've no real desire to tune in for season three and that depresses the hell out of me.
CW is gonna stand for Crappy Women. They chopped Veronica Mars, a show with a female lead who was pretty but actually had a brain, so I could forgive the network for ATM and Pussycat Dolls. (I don't count Beauty and the Geek because I like it

Okay, it's not K's fault; good thing I didn't mail those postcards yet. I am just...dumbfounded. Is Ostroff pissed that Jared called her a 'little whippersnapper' in Entertainment Weekly?!? Her idea of 'strong female characters' baffles me.(Reminds me that Chris Carter said that the network didn't want Gillian Anderson for Scully, but somebody taller, blonde, and bigger you-know-where. Were they wrong.)

It looks like it is Dawn's fault.

Did you see the post where someone asked a friend in the industry about this casting info, and he said that Kripke's been fighting network executives about adding female regulars and finally lost? Look here: http://community.livejournal.com/supernatural_tv/1060477.html?page=1#comments
