The fact that they're women isn't my biggest complaint (These characters could be MEN and I'd still be upset), though I will admit it is part of it. My biggest complaint is that I started watching SPN for SamandDean, and Eric seems determined to mess with the success of that formula and for the life of me I can't understand WHY. Are you tired of SPN, Eric? Are you sabotaging it on purpose? Because if these characters become series regulars you will have done just that. I will seriously be through with this show. It will sadden me beyond belief, but it will no longer be the show that I loved, so why bother torturing myself?I feel the same way. Alot of people say "Oh I'll watch anyway" but I don't feel like I will want to. Loyalty to Jensen might be keep here for a little while but that's about it and then they'll have lost a viewer(though clearly they don't want me as a viewer anyway given their decisions). Now this may not be Kripke's doing, it may be Ostroff's which I would totally believe, but in either case...it's not the show I ( ... )

If these two bimbos turn out the way that we think they are, there's just no way I can stick around and watch. It will no longer be the show I fell in love with, so what's the point? I'll be heartbroken, as it's been 12 years since a show captured me like this, but why torture myself and just get angry every week?

but really it works best when it's Dean and Sam riding into down, meeting some interesting characters, solving the supernatural problem, and leaving again to move onto the next hunt

Here, here! I did enjoy some of the mythology episodes in S2, simply because I love Dean angst, though. *g*

And how stupid is that with Dean having a year to live and Sam being focused on trying to save him? No way in hell do I see either of them even giving pause to consider such a notion. And that's what kills me, too. So Dean's gonna be all "well, I've only got a year to live, but let me take time to bang this chick" and Sam, too, "Sorry, bro ( ... )

oh hell no! I plan on sending repeated letters. and not fake nice letters with a hint of distaste but full on bitch letters. I may frain from actually threatening, but they will be letter filled with anger.

And I don't believe for one instant that Kripke is doing this to add male viewers to the show, 'cause guess what? The show already HAS what attracts men to it - guns, monsters and things get set on fire on a regular basis.

I totally believe that. That is one reason that I love the show so much. I was raised with 12 different guys all who was at least 10 years older then me. So I tend to act like a guy, and watch shows/movies where there are guns, fast cars, and/or things getting burned or blew up.

See, exactly! I mean, unless the women are NAKED every episode, how many male viewers does Ostroff intend to grab with the addition of these two bimbos? Our only saving grace may be in the fact that CW promotes SPN for shit so no one will even know these characters exist and can then be killed off. Heh.

According to this it wasn't his idea to add the girls

Yep, I have no problem believing that this is all Ostroff's fault, and I applaud Eric for fighting against this so hard.

But that also makes our battle even tougher. If it was Kripke's idea, I believe we could sway him, but if this came down from up above and Ostroff is flexing her muscles it's going to be alot harder to make her see she's an idiot for doing this to our show.

What's scaring me most?

If these girls are better than Deany-o and Sam, and Ostroff's behind it, what'd happen if Ostroff fired Kripke for not emasculating Sam and Dean and not making Bela and Ruby (... Ostroff got 'president of entertainment' how again? Because those names completely, totally took some imagination.) LE STARZZ of the show?

And then she hires another writer who kills off the brothers?

*shakes head* If that happens, I dunno what the tattered, torn, bloodied and bruised remenants of the fandom would do. Other than, say, run/crawl away screaming and sobbing for what is left of their cranial functions. That's part of the reason I'm litterally shaking in horror.

Because, inmyoppinion, Jo and the Roadhouse people were okay. Maybe not brilliance like Bobby, but I liked 'em.

The other reason for my shakes is that: OMFGWTFBBFUCKINGQ?! ROMANTIC INTEREST?! AFTER GETTING SENTENCED TO AS LITTLE AS A YEAR, SEEING YOUR DAD CLIMB. OUT. OF. HELL., DEFEATING A PSYCHOTIC, WORLD-TERMINATING-ARMY-PLANNING DEMONthatlike, completely, ( ... )

My fear is kinda long these same lines - Ostroff is pissed that her pet show, Veronica Mars, had to finally be canceled. So now she's putting on Gossip Girl (all female power) and shoving females down the throats of any other show she can and SPN is a victim. So my fear is that she's setting up Bela and Ruby to have their own spin off, to cancel SPN and have her own version of Buffy AND her own supernatural type show, Reaper, which she must "get".

So yeah, pardon me if I hate Bela and Ruby with a goddamn passion, y'know? Because all I foresee is the death of our show.

I never cared for any of the Roadhouse crew, but I'd take back Ellen in a second now.

So the 'romantic interest' crap? Yeah, that's a bit too off-colorMy god, isn't it though?? For every reason you named. So Dean's gonna be all "well, I've only got a year to live, but let me take time to bang ( ... )

EXACTLY. My sister and I were debating - well, my sister was talking and I was making incoherent noises of confusion/outrage/horror, occasionally contributing a sentence or two - what she was doing this for besides her going all "WAAAAAAAAH." over the cancelation of VM. Longer story slightly shorter, we my sister came to the conclusion that she was doing it for a spinoff.

This scared me so much I almost passed out right in my chair. Simply, if not for the idea that SPN get a girl-tized-to-da-max spinoff, for the reason that my sister said the Girls would be the baddy-type things in SPN for a while, and then in their show-abomination, the brothers would be the baddies. Reason for fainting = that could end up happening, and, MPHFM. *thud*

So yeah, pardon me if I hate Bela and Ruby with a goddamn passion, y'know? No reason to pardon. I can't hate ( ... )
