21. Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris
Wow. I really enjoyed this book (and want the final one in the series *now* but it's not available on PBS and I'm not buying new books til I finish the stack I got for my birthday). *But* I think Charlaine Harris has been taking lessons from Jim Butcher on how to abuse your characters.

2. Wizard's Bane by Rick CookNew author for me, and definitely a fun read. Wiz, a computer programmer and very stereotypical solitary geek guy, gets summoned by a powerful wizard into a fantasy world. 1. The Apocalypse Troll by David WeberYou know, for someone who says they're not into military sci-fi, I read a heck of a lot of David Weber. 38. The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell
Very good historical fiction. Set in 866, when the Danes are conquering everything in sight. Uhtred, the main character, is captured by the Danes as a young boy, in the battle where his father dies. Like I always seem to do with Dragonlance, I read these out of order, reading this trilogy after the War of Souls, which I thought I'd finished. Apparently not.

33. Fairest by Gail Carson Levine
A random bit of YA fiction that jumped out at me from the library shelf one evening. A nice change of pace from the heavier stuff I'd been reading previously.
