[Alessa creeps towards the entrance, looking a bit nervous. She's not used to parties, especially happy ones. She's dressed up nice, though--a nice, soft, pink dress with her hair brushed out and an understated bow tied on her head. And she has a small wrapped box with her present.]

[And Tommy is right there to greet her. He looks fairly relaxed, happier than he's been. This is Kate's night, and he wants to make it one to remember, even though they've lost so much in the last month. And besides, this is also, a little bit, for the kids that happen to come by. They deserve a bit of fun.]

Hey there! I'm glad you came. Come on in, you want a piece of cake?

[hurtandscared]

[She peers up at him, blinking like he's suddenly flashed a bright light in her face.] Am I... am I allowed to eat the cake...?

[Oh gosh. Kid why do you break his heart a little? He will make sure you are bouncing off the walls with sugar before you leave. Actually there's a little breeze and then a second later, he's offering a big piece of cake on a paper plate with a plastic fork.]

You have as much as you want, sweetie. My brother magicked it up. Reality-warping powers come in handy sometimes.

For Kate~ (getting to the party)

[All the while, Suki was with Kate, trying to distract her by sparring. But finally, Suki got the message and lead Kate back to her room for the surprise party.

This was actually cheering her up, which was nice. So when Suki got there, she was smiling.]

Oh! And Kate? Happy birthday.

[Kate wasn't really surprised that Suki had wanted to spend the day sparring. And she din't mind at all. She also didn't notice anything weird as they headed back to her suite. When Suki said her name she looked over at her, smiling a bit]

Hmm? [But then the door to her suite opened and she just kind of. Stared] ...What? [Surprise successful]

[Tommy's waiting by the door, looking way too casual for the moment, grinning a bit.] Surprise. Happy 17th.

Thanks for keeping her busy, Suki.

Happy to do it. [And she meant it. Suki was finally in a good mood.]

Were you surprised, Kate?

[Mairu comes bouncing in happily, but quickly stops and looks around. Her expression quickly turns sour.]

Ah! That's right! I wasn't able to get anything...hmmm...!

[ Showing up, a huge card in hand. Looking vaguely nervous because she's not sure where she's supposed to be going and she doesn't really know anyone! But it's a party! This is cool! ]

It's you!

Ah, I remember you! The one with that design on her underwear!

Yeah, that was me...I don't think we really need to talk about that, though! How are you? Are you here for the party?

[Kate will bother her! Because she has no clue who all Tommy invited to this. She approaches Jade, smiling a bit] Hi there. Did you need help or something? You look a little lost.

[quarkylass]

[ She smiles! ] I'm here for a party! Are you the birthday person? Because I have something for you, if so.

[artemisaim]

Oh, so Tommy invited you? And yeah, that's me. I'm Kate.

[Tommy and Kate, while the party's dwindling down]

[Tommy's spent most of the evening playing host and bothering Kate and making sure all the silly birthday traditions are observed - like singing happy birthday and smearing frosting on her cheek and laughingly offering to lick it off- Okay that isn't a birthday tradition but still.

But now that the party is dwindling and there are fewer people milling around their confetti-covered suite, Tommy thinks it's time to give her her present. So he takes a moment to slip into their room, and he comes back out with something behind his back, zipping over to Kate.]

Hey. I haven't given you your present yet.

[artemisaim]

[So today has actually been pretty fun! Amazingly enough. For once you didn't screw anything up, Tommy. She's a bit more cheerful than she's been, even if the pang of guilt that they didn't get to do anything like this for Teddy and the fact that she misses him is still there. She's doing her best to just ignore that though]

Oh yeah? What'd you get me?

[notaspeedyhobo]

[The fact that Teddy can't be here for this hurts Tommy, too, even if he won't admit it. And he wishes Amalia could have come, and so many more... But this is supposed to be a happy night for Kate, and so he's firmly pushing down any negativity. So he smiles pretty broadly when she asks what he got her, and leans forward for a quick peck on the lips.]

That, for one. And these. [And now he takes the bundle of trick arrows out from behind his back. They're wrapped up in a strip of the pretty purple fabric he used to make her quiver, and tied with a nice bow. The little attached card simply reads: "From your team".]

[She just sort of smiles and kisses him back] Dork.

[She unties the ribbon when he hands the bundle to her, blinking down at the arrows] Are these...?
