[Alessa creeps towards the entrance, looking a bit nervous. She's not used to parties, especially happy ones. She's dressed up nice, though--a nice, soft, pink dress with her hair brushed out and an understated bow tied on her head. And she has a small wrapped box with her present.]

[And Tommy is right there to greet her. He looks fairly relaxed, happier than he's been. This is Kate's night, and he wants to make it one to remember, even though they've lost so much in the last month. And besides, this is also, a little bit, for the kids that happen to come by. They deserve a bit of fun.]

Hey there! I'm glad you came. Come on in, you want a piece of cake?

[hurtandscared]

[She peers up at him, blinking like he's suddenly flashed a bright light in her face.] Am I... am I allowed to eat the cake...?

[Oh gosh. Kid why do you break his heart a little? He will make sure you are bouncing off the walls with sugar before you leave. Actually there's a little breeze and then a second later, he's offering a big piece of cake on a paper plate with a plastic fork.]

You have as much as you want, sweetie. My brother magicked it up. Reality-warping powers come in handy sometimes.

[Because she's the world's tiniest heartbreaker ever.

She hesitates, then tentatively reaches to take it, half-expecting someone to smack her for it.]

It... th-thank you...

[He will have none of that at a party. Children should be happy and have fun. Tommy lets her take the plate and smiles broadly, giving her hair a little ruffle.]

I'm gonna make sure you're all hopped up on sugar by the time this party's over.

[Kate sees Alessa standing there and goes over to say hello]

Hi Alessa. You look very nice today.

[She smiles up at Kate shyly.] Thank you. So do you. [She tentatively offers her present.] Happy birthday. I hope you like it.

[Inside is a necklace made with catgut strung with teeth, but not just any teeth! These teeth are from the Ice Snarks of Wonderland, which means they are wicked sharp and about the length of Alessa's forearm, so it's a necklace of tooth daggers. Have fun!]

Thank you. [She smiles back and takes the present from her, opening it up] Oh wow. Did you get these from Wonderland? They could practically be daggers. [Which is what she'll use them for, woo!]

Yeah! I killed a bunch of Ice Snarks, so I had plenty teeth to work with! [She has several necklaces like that. In fact, she's got a lot of macabre trophies.

She grins, proud to have Kate's approval.] I'm glad you like it!
