It was the best of times and the worst of times, my Senior Year. I made a lot of new friends, got closer to the old ones and I don't think I lost any friends this year. 2010-11 has been relatively drama free (socially) and I think that's a sign of my Senior Class and I growing up.
I had my last day on Monday, it was strange. A lot of people skipped

When it comes to high school and the people you met: the friends that matter will always be there for you, and you for them, and the people you hated will eventually stop mattering so much (though even that can take a while).
Enjoy EVERY SECOND of college, even the parts that kinda suck. It will be over so much faster than you can ever believe.
Okay, done being all "when I was your age" and preachy and stuff. ;)

Basically, I agree with _sacchi: Your real friends will always stick with you, no matter the distance. Though sometimes people just have to slip out of your life, and it's best that way, because you're growing into new people; your lives are evolving. (I didn't want that to get depressing, but that's how I see it, and I don't think it has to be a sad thing.) Anyway, you'll get to make so many new friends in college! :D

Not all friends come and go. Likewise, not all friends who go are leaving you behind. Take it from someone who knows -- your real friends are always there. Even if you don't talk every day, they still think of you, hope for the best for you, and miss you. Sometimes, we have no choice but to separate. But that bond never breaks.
A "friend" of mine has recently started treating me...quite distantly lately. Unlike other friends that I'm separated from, he isn't moving in a different and better direction, he simply doesn't think I'm cool enough (his fiance thinks I'm weird and he's apparently very keen to associate with people she thinks are worthy). People like that? You should want to grow away from them. You don't want them poisoning your life and your goals.
As far as being an adult goes, don't look at me. I'm about to turn 40, and I'm clearly not growing up, just getting older (comic books, mermaids, My Little Pony, video games, etc. etc. etc.). ;-)
