Medicine
He remembers when he was younger - his mother brewed teas using the flowers growing wild near his boot and in the field behind him. She always told him that if he had to, he could eat the flowers if he boiled them in water.

He is sure that there were times she’d offered him soup when he was sick that the main ingredient was this flower. The doctors of Central City would never suggest such a remedy when the Tin Men grew ill. Home remedies were frowned upon because they were too simple.

He’d take simple over fancy any day.

Time
He remembers one of the first afternoons he spent with Adora. They walked through the fields near her home and simply talked. He asked if she would ever move to Central City from the country and she asked why he wanted to be a Tin Man.

He laughed when their topic turned to a game of ‘What if?’

What would she do if she could have any job in the Zone?

What would he do if he had fifty platinums and free reign on the markets of Central City?

What would she do if he asked her to marry him?

Clover
He leans against a fencepost and looks out over the field with a content smile. The sun is shining and it could be argued that today is a perfect day. Looking to the flowers growing at the base of the fence, he leans down to pick a few.

Movement to his right causes his head to turn and he sees a small girl, maybe four, moving toward him. As she walks along the path, her hand runs along the tops of the grass that is nearly as tall as she is. She stops just out of reach and smiles brightly.

String
He shows her how to weave a crown of flowers and grass, as Adora had done that day. She laughed at the look on his face when she tried to put it on his head. He gave in for a moment, allowing her to enjoy the sight of an embarrassed youth.

He pulled it from his blonde hair and placed it carefully on her head, taking a few extra moments to arrange the flowers, not that they would do anything to make her more beautiful.

Wyatt Cain had fallen hopelessly in love with her.

And Adora had fallen for him.

Phantom
“Wyatt Cain!” they both hear from the cabin near the white elm. Looking up toward the house, both can see DG standing at the side of the cabin, hands on her hips and scanning the horizon.

He smiles to the girl and holds out the purplish-red flower for her to take. She takes it gently, her fingers closing around the stem just above his.

He smiles to her again and nods toward the cabin. Her eyes sparkle as a slight breeze picks up, causing him to look the opposite way. Smiling, she turns and skips down the walk.

“Hi, Mommy.”
