OK, so I am trying to find a better RSS aggregator than Liferea, because Liferea insists on calling something like sync() on EVERY query to sqlite, thus making it very slow. Fine; let's sidetrack for a moment and let me bitch about how I feel like I'm stuck with Liferea anyway if I'm using Linux:

DAMN IT, screen... I really do want the backspace key to be destructive. I do not want this key to delete to the right. And now I'm being forced to hit the DELETE key once more because of what I consider to be a stupid default.

It's 2009. I still have them. I'm one incinerator away from getting them out of my life, but I haven't found such a device yet. Meanwhile, they take space in my closet.

I'll just say, without running too much at the mouth, that I can't stand Linux being generally referred to as "GNU/Linux."

Why is this, other than simply an annoyance? I suppose that it's because when I refer to Linux in a general sense, the fact that the GNU userland is used is implicit, and that explicitly mentioning GNU feels rather... stuffed ( Read more... )

The instant I forget how incredibly shit PalmOS is and that it's stagnated for much longer than I care to admit, salt gets rubbed in the wound.
