When we bought our house 10 ½ years ago, it had light carpet in the hallway and living room.  We knew it was going to be an Issue, as we have a large number of pets and pets and light carpets really don’t mix.  We were right.

Several of the cats used to play "feet under da' door" with Kitty.  They would bat at each others feet as one or the other stuck them under the door crack.  Obviously Kitty isn't doing that any more.  I have seen Queen, Willow, Ernie and Katie all sniffing around the door to Kitty's room, or staring at it intently.  Sorry kids...no more feet under ( Read more... )

One of the "red flags" for Bunny's cancer was that after five years of minor dosage adjustments he suddenly needed about 1/3 as much insulin.

Riley, the cat in the avatar for this post, missed Bunny so much he literally had a nervous breakdown. 
Here is story about a little dog who missed his feline friend soooo much.

Annie's blood glucose ran in the low 170's all day yesterday.  While that is the high side of normal, it is still too low to give her a shot.

This morning, 48 hours after her last dose of insulin, she is at 144.

Cats can go into remission from diabetes.  That's why it is so important to test their glucose levels daily.  Right now I am very excited ( Read more... )

This morning I went outside to put some mail in the box and narrowly missed stepping on a sad little dead vole on my front porch.  Anyone with an indoor/outdoor cat has been "Gifted" in just such a way.  They bring home birds, mice, voles, once a bat, sometimes apples (another story for another day) and my friends down South get "Gifted" with ( Read more... )
