Good advice.  Perhaps those of you who will struggle on after your 50,000 words are done because the book isn't will find it particularly useful.

So, this is my first time ever doing this, and so far it's going great. It's just, I feel like my story is lacking something. It's about a young girl named Sophia who is a ballerina. First year doing NaNoWriMo and I haven't even started yet D:

What does it take to write 50,000 words...? Help anyone? I've only ever gotten to 4000.

I've got a few ideas floating about in my head and all of them sound awfully cliché...

Blergh. I do hope I'll manage to complete whatever I'm going to write.

If there's one thing that I pay attention to most in my and others writing it is TENSES. Past tense, present tense, whatever you choose to write in, I urge you to please try to stick to one to make your writing consistent ( Read more... )

Now that I've got my plot and outline worked out, I keep thinking of awesome sentences I would use in the story.  Not just sentences by themselves, but whole paragraphs that kind of just evolve... and I want to write them down, but I feel like it would be cheating.  And I'm scared if I don't write them down, I'll lose them forever!*
