Characterization Question
Hello all! So, I've got a bit of a plot problem (read: no defined plot at all, only a few flashes and possibilities), so I've decided to keep said flashes in mind, get to know my main character better and see where she takes me.
Slight problem: She doesn't want to tell me who she is. She's very, VERY secretive, or perhaps stubborn, or perhaps she simply doesn't like me. She refuses to communicate with me on the matter.
If she has any relationships AT ALL before the novel starts, she's not telling me. She won't tell me what her last name is. She won't tell me where she lives, or what she does for a living, or what her hobbies or tastes are. I DO know a fair bit about how her mind works, but virtually nothing about her history and her everyday life. She's intriguing, though, and she definitely wants the spotlight, so I'm pretty sure she's who I'm writing with.
Any ideas on how I can better tease out the details of her life? Pretty please?
