I am two nights in on the new placement and they have been ... intense. This establishment is a convalescent home which takes in patients who are recovering from operations or medical conditions which no longer require hospitalization but are not quite ready to go home, so mainly older people (64 to 97 years ) but not with psychiatric problems.

I used to be someone who hated leads on dogs, I didn’t use one unless there was no avoiding it and I could be unpleasant if I was called out on it. Yesterday I was walking around the stade with the dogs and my phone rang. It was work, and they said that as two people have returned from sick leave would I like to have some time off. Yay indeed! We have been on a couple of walks a bit further away, on Friday we went to the Moulin du Saut and today we walked around St Jean Lagineste. Both were just under two hours which fits well with my schedule and the ups and downs are good exercise. I am sharing some photos from Friday.

So on Sunday morning we set off on the scooters with James and Karl to visit the hills at Songyi. It was a short ride into a much less commercial area, and we parked next to a large temple. The path led through the temple complex and up into woods. You could see the town and I was interested to see old and new architecture side by side.

During the ante and post partum period Guinny has not wanted to walk any distance, and blocks me if I try to go too far, but I finally have worked out this is to do with being in earshot of the puppies.
