In which I spend a day off doing nothing in particular.

During the ante and post partum period Guinny has not wanted to walk any distance, and blocks me if I try to go too far, but I finally have worked out this is to do with being in earshot of the puppies. I felt she was well enough to go a bit further now, plus I have been gathering kilos like a poet gathering lilacs, and need to get moving. There is no mystery about my kilos, I am hungry all the time, and I eat...and eat, and eat. So a car journey would be necessary to break the puppy spell.
Today I gathered together some stuff and set off for a local beauty spot; Le Lac de Tolerme. I was planning to buy a sandwich, but on arriving in St Céré I realised I had forgotten my purse, so I was left to manage with the jammy madeleines and yogi tea in my backpack.

The lake was nothing special...

but it was cold and frosty. You wouldn't get me trying to walk this icy log!

They love carving trees around here...

Clinky cow bell, which I could hear from quite a distance.

I didn't take any more photos, because it was too cold, however then I saw my dream house. I needed to take a picture...

and I was walking closer to take more pictures when the front door opened and an old man came out...I said an embarrassed bonjour and retreated.
We did 9 km, which was good for a first walk on a cold day.
However, meantime the puppies were learning how to escape from the enclosure, which is a big worry for when I am at work. I have tried to reinforce things, but... Guinny doesn't help, she encourages them to get out. I will be glad to see the back of them...one puppy=cute, eight puppies=bloody annoying. No, no pictures!
Instead I bring some disapproving cat pictures. I know not what makes them disapprove, they just sit around and make me feel awkward. That is their mission I suppose. :(

Bovril on the scratchy thing. They all love this, and do lots of clawing, as well as sitting.

James and Lana p. Yes guys, I feel awkward, your mission is accomplished, so can you go now?
The cats now do their business in the shower tray...which is ok in that it is not my duvet, but still requires me to deal with it. What with the volumes of poo at work plus puppy poo when I get home, the cat poo in the shower can feel like the final straw.
